What are the rules?
On the Gold Coast, placing a bin on your own property doesn’t require permission from your local council. However, if you’re considering putting a bin on public property, the rules change. You might need to secure a permit from Gold Coast City Council. Some areas might not permit the placement of skip bins on public property at all. It’s important to consult with your skip bin provider before attempting to place a bin on public land.
Our trucks often have the capability to place bins in these specified locations, but the local council has the final say on whether bins can be placed outside of private property. Typically, customers are required to obtain a temporary permit from GCCC for bin placement in public spaces, which may involve a fee.
Failing to secure a permit could expose customers to potential fines from the council. ABC Skip Bins is not responsible for obtaining permits or for any fines that may be levied for improper bin placement.
